From its beginning in 1717, Freemasonry has sought not to produce great men, but a greater world. Freemasons live by a code of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth, which guides not just the Tradition, but every Lodge, and every Freemason.

Brotherly Love

Freemasons are taught to look past the limitations of societal values on character, and regard all mankind as one family. This levels the playing field, and denies Freemasons the convenience of social, religious, and political divisions. It cleanly solidifies a common vision, and incontrovertibly makes plain that which is truly important.

Relief

To soothe the unhappy, to sympathize their misfortunes, to compassionate their miseries - to relieve the distressed is peculiarly the duty of Masons–a sacred duty, not to be omitted, neglected, or coldly or inefficiently complied with.

Truth

Truth is a Divine attribute and the foundation of every virtue. To be true, and to seek to find and learn the Truth, are the great objects of every good Mason.
